About Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island (PEI) may be Canada’s smallest province, but it is rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. Known as the “Garden of the Gulf,” PEI is famous for its rolling farmland, red sand beaches, and iconic lighthouses.
The province holds a special place in Canadian history as the birthplace of Confederation, where discussions in Charlottetown in 1864 led to the creation of Canada.
Today, PEI is celebrated for its vibrant communities, fresh seafood (especially mussels and lobster), and as the setting of the beloved novel Anne of Green Gables. Its small size makes it welcoming and easy to explore, offering a warm sense of community and pride in its heritage.
